Mitch joined Geenen & Kolean in 2014 and became a partner in the firm in 2022. He graduated from Hope College with honors in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Accounting/Management. Mitch enjoys preparing tax returns, tax planning and helping clients with their bookkeeping. He also likes to teach clients about taxes and accounting so that they have a better understanding of their business. He believes that accountants should not only focus on preparing quality work for the client but should strive to add financial knowledge to households and businesses as well. Mitch went into public accounting because it allows him to work with a wide variety of businesses and individuals.
Mitch is currently on the board of directors of CDS Lakeshore Head Start, serving as the board treasurer. He is a Kids Hope USA mentor at Jefferson Elementary through his church.
In his free time, Mitch enjoys spending time with his wife, watching sports with his friends, camping and reading. Mitch grew up on his family’s farm in Hopkins, MI but has come to love the Holland area.
